Someone put down stepping stones to help people get across this beaver dam. It used to be a trail until the beavers took over. I should have taken a photograph of it in March when we had so much rain that there was flooding in many places in the local area. At that time, several of the stepping stones were under running water. Nevertheless I crossed them to get to the Glacial Hill where a number of the photographs posted in this blog were taken.
Crossing now is fairly easy. Except for the occasional snake among the stones, the only real obstacles are the two branches that are blocking the way in the middle of the stepping stones. When the water was flowing over the dam, submerging several of the stones, it was a major inconvenience.
